Born in Los Angeles, California, Mateo had an instant attraction to the Arts. He graduated from California State University of Northridge as a Graphic Designer.  Mateo’s passion for hair came a few years later. It was at Toni & Guy where he attended cosmetology school and completed his education. He has a strong foundation in styling and has worked alongside top hairdressers in the industry for several years.

He is currently at The BENJAMIN Salon in West Hollywood where he takes both male and female Cut and Color clients.  Mateo's styling is refined and deconstructed, he has no preferences and is no one trick pony.
