Pamela Neal knew very young that hair was her calling. In London she apprenticed at the prestigious Raymond Salons, founded by the great hair pioneer, Raymond “Teasie Weasie’ Bessone. There, strict training instilled a discipline in Pamela’s practice that remains strong to this day. Pamela's ambition to open her own business came to fruition when she was 25, after moving to Toronto from England. “Head by Wiggy,” the private hair salon and art gallery, produced irreverent, cutting-edge work that attracted actors, designers and musicians and resulted in opportunities for Pamela on editorial, film and music projects around the world.
Pamela built a reputation working on high-profile creative projects with such artists as Bjork, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and David Bowie, with whom she enjoyed several collaborations. With a love of experimentation merged with historical references, Pamela’s work expanded into special-effects hair, makeup and wig work as part of her technical repertoire. Her talent in marrying beauty and style with radical innovation has contributed to many iconic moments in pop culture for artists and actors like Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning (The Runaways), Katy Perry (“ET”) and Adele (“Hello”), and with directors including Floria Sigismondi, Mark Romanek and Tom Kuntz.
